    The Truth About Being Awesome

    January 11, 2018

It’s not often I get to say this, mostly because I spent the last two years working on Bent and basically had no time whatsoever to write anything else, but today an article I sent in a month ago got posted on Elephant Journal and it’s one of my favorite things I’ve ever written. It’s happy. It just might be the happiest thing I’ve ever put out there.

I had the idea for this in the back of my head for at least a year. I also wrote the last line first, way back in the beginning of that year. My entire 2017 was spent knowing how this thing would end, but not necessarily how it would begin. So after all the book stuff was done and I could function again like a normal human, I finally sat down and banged out the rest of The Truth About Being Awesome. In a happy way.

The Truth About Being Awesome is about you. Because you are special. This whole life is special. How special? David Bowie special. Think about it. We’re lucky enough to be alive in a time when David Bowie was making music. This could have been the Middle Ages, and then where would we be. And yes, I know there may be some other fully cool person out there whose music might be more to you, but I’m sorry. Nobody’s as cool as David fucking Bowie. And he’s just an example.

So here it is. It’s all true. I hope it makes you happy 🖤

    Adults Ruin Everything

So Shines A Good Deed In A Weary World…

There is an unusually large, very out-of-place house around the corner from us that Mauro and I refer to as “the boy’s reformatory.” It’s a charmless two story brick house that sits behind wrought…
